A day in Reno

Today we headed for Reno. Our first stop was The Grand Sierra Resort for the breakfast buffet with Jeff and Marie. Wow I forgot how good it was. We all ate WAY to much. Then, yep you guessed it, we did a bit of time at the slots. I came out 35.00 ahead. Marie is such good luck! Then off to the KHS&S Contractors office to pick up Nyda for lunch. No, we could not eat anything but had fun visiting with her while she had lunch. Then we dropped her off at the car rental place. She was having to go to Concord to work in their office for a few days. I wish we could have spent more time. We will when we come back in July. Then a quick stop at Costco in Carson, we forgot a couple of things the last time we were there. Then home.

Nyda and I are so cute

So are Nyda and Derek

Yep we forgot gin and sleeping pills. No I will not take them both at the same time. The gin is for the bar at the house

We stopped in Dayton on the way back to check out the historic sites.
For today's history lesson:
Dayton was the first place gold was found in Nevada
Below is a sign about the usage of camels

Half way home we spotted some wild mustangs on the side of the highway. We pulled over to take some pictures. (they are not great because you are not allowed to get to close) These 2 were just relaxing................but I guess spring is in the air

From across the highway another mustang appears. He starts to head our way

Yep he ran across the highway and the dirt road we were parked on. Yep guess what is coming next......

That's right he thought this little lady was awfully cute

She was quick to turn

Oh guess he will have to wait for another day. They joined back up with the others to continue grazing. It is always cool to see these beautiful creatures running wild. We have been lucky enough to see them almost everyday. Not usually this close.

Tomorrow we plan to spend a good part of the day in Virginia City. Always a mandatory stop for us when we come to visit.
